This session with Lauria Pascuzzi (Lauria Rose, 76 Skyvue) is one that still inspires me every time I look at the images. While Lauria doesn’t claim to be a model and told me how as a designer she wasn’t entirely confident in front of the camera, she absolutely knocked this impromptu session out of the park. With her design background she was incredibly prepared, brought the most fabulous wardrobe selections, and was - to put it simply - poised. Our hour together flew by as we chatted and created these bold, minimal images.

The natural light that flooded Studio B early in the morning set the tone for these images in an unexpected way. As a Minneapolis portrait photographer and a lover of natural light, the startling beauty of the harsher areas of light and shadow in the studio provided much room to explore several different styles in the same session space. The images you will find below have very different feelings and yet their bold, editorial feel and Lauria’s calm confidence make the collection cohesive and compelling.
